Laptops used in rural schools in Kenya are almost non existent. Nomad staff and volunteers as recently as October of 2014 visited numerous secondary schools and, even though a hand full of schools did have computer labs, they had no electricity to run the computers.
Nomad Charities was donated 5 laptop computers from the Bend La Pine School District in central Oregon. A grant from the Olive Bridge Fund allowed us to create a computer lap within Gail’s House where the kids can use the computers for school work for up to two hours every evening. Our kids will be so much more advanced in their schooling because of this opportunity. With that said, more laptops are needed so please feel free to contact Nomad to donate your used laptop and receive a generous tax write-off!
