Without an NGO’s community involvement within the area they serve, all is lost. Nomad Charities prides itself on being extremely involved in our community, with a focus on clean water, teaching new farming techniques, free medical clinics, HIV/AIDS testing, rebuilding schools and then of course our very successful Student Sponsorship Program.
Working in third world countries, creating a self-sustaining livelihood without a reliance on foreign aid, is crucial if we want to give our communities a fighting chance for survival.
For the past 13 years Nomad Charities has dug in its heels, working with all the local CBO’s, widows groups and various coops within the district of Kibwezi, Kenya. Currently our two main areas of community development include farming and awarding scholarships for secondary education to children in need.
Kibwezi, Kenya has come a long way since 2003 when we first arrived. To date, we are the only NGO in the area that has stayed in Kibwezi, continuing to serve the community on a grassroots level after all these years.
Nomad Charities will continue to serve the people within our community and strive to educate, empower and grow together as a community.
