3 ways to Sponsor Students
100% of the funding of the Scholarship Program comes from individual sponsors on a yearly basis.
Every sponsor will receive a packet, which includes a hand written letter and photo from the ”adopted” student, expenditure report, and contact info so that you may correspond with your student. Most of our students need sponsorship for 4 years to complete their academic careers. Nomad Charities is a registered 501 c 3 organization.
1.) DAY SCHOLARS – $350 per year / per student
This program provides a student with tuition, books & supplies, a school uniform, shoes and lunch. Many of these students live at Gail’s House but some live with their families.
2.) BOARDING – $650 per year / per student
This program provides each student with tuition, books & supplies, a school uniform, shoes, three meals per day, medical care and sleeping quarters. These students are predominately orphans and or girls. We often have co-sponsors (2 or more sponsors) to share the cost of boarding students. As of January 2015 the Kenyan Government requires all Form 4 students to be boarded.
Over 80% of Nomad Charities graduates receive some type of government scholarship for higher education. However, scholarships do not include living expenses, school supplies or food and many promising students are left struggling to balance school and financial demands.
3.) GENERAL EDUCATION FUND
100% of the current funding of the Scholarship Program comes from individual sponsors on a yearly basis. While we love the relationships that are often formed between the student and sponsor from this program, it creates a liability when an individual donor drops out of the program. The General Education Fund was created to address this issue. All funds donated under the General Education Fund go towards assisting students in our Scholarship Program.
